General
The further from the beaten path you venture, the more prepared you should be for a medical emergency.
Always carry a first aid kit “appropriate” for the type of adventure, and the number of campers in your group. For example, my personal ultralight thru-hiking first-aid kit is very minimal, yet my family car camping kit is much larger and comprehensive.
Before heading out, know how to use everything in your kit, and check and refill contents as needed.
Take a wilderness first aid course!
